About Newark Wellness

Located at 6066 Civic Terrace Ave, Newark, CA 94560, Newark Wellness operates as a medical clinic serving Newark in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as community health center, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Many people looking for a dentist also need a doctor, and this group lists the medical clinics, family physicians, urgent care and walk-in centers, hospitals, pediatricians, eye doctors, medical specialists and pharmacies near the dental practices on the site. Primary care in the US runs through family doctors and internists who coordinate referrals; urgent care centers handle minor injuries and illnesses without an appointment for far less than an emergency room; hospitals with emergency departments are the place for severe facial trauma or a dental infection that spreads. Pharmacies fill the antibiotics and pain medication a dentist prescribes and sell fluoride rinses and prescription-strength toothpaste.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (510) 505-1600. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, newarkahs.org.

Its Google rating is 3.7 out of 5 from 70 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Newark is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Newark follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Such a positive experience! Everyone was so kind and welcoming β€” from the moment I walked in. Dr. Afishetu Ikharo-Okhomina was amazing. She was so caring, attentive, and made me feel completely comfortable. She took her time to explain everything and answer all my questions, which I really appreciated. You can truly feel when people care about what they do β€” and that was the case here. I’m very grateful and would definitely recommend!

Very poor service and terrible scheduling system It’s almost impossible to reach anyone by phone or change your appointment. They don’t care about patients’ time or situation you are forced to come only when it fits their schedule, not yours. Especially Dr. Ankita Shrivastava is very unhelpful and shows no flexibility or understanding. This clinic really needs better management and more respect for patients.

I was extremely disappointed with the security guard at this hospital. As soon as I walked in with my 2-year-old son, who naturally wandered over to the vending machines, the guard approached me in a rude manner. He asked if I knew English and could read the signs, implying I was somehow incapable or ignorant. What bothered me most was that he didn't even bother to check if my son was in harm's way or offer assistance; instead, he seemed more focused on scolding me. The vending machines are huge and clearly not child-friendly, but expecting a parent to hold a toddler all the time is unrealistic. My son was simply trying to explore, and the guard's tone was completely uncalled for. As a parent, I understand the importance of supervision, but there's a difference between being watchful and being draconian. Perhaps the hospital could provide clearer guidelines or even child-friendly areas, rather than relying on security to intimidate parents. Until then, I would caution others to be prepared for a potentially unpleasant experience.

(Tmi warning) I have PCOS and Crohn's disease. Been coming here ever since I was kid. My first red flag was that they turned me and my father away at the door and refused to let us come inside and see a doctor, claiming that we needed to have called ahead and scheduled an appointment weeks in advance. This was during the worst flare up I ever had with my crohn's disease which was undiagnosed at the time. I ended up in the ICU for half a month and septic with a fistula and had lost about 40 lbs in a month. It almost cost me my life and when I spoke with my pediatrician again (i was 17 during all this), she said I never needed an appointment and the lady who turned me away rushed into apologize and it was clear she was just trying to make herself feel better. This isn't the only staff member I had issues with. More recently, I needed to see gynecologist ASAP because very irregular periods that have been known to stop for months at a time, longest being 10 months. When I first came to talk about it with a doctor when I was a minor, the pediatrician blamed it on my weight. When I was 18 and asked for an OBGYN to talk about getting a pcos diagnosis and birth control for my periods and h

I've been seeing this guy for 3 years. I stopped in there today without an appointment at 1:45 and they got me out of there by 3 pm. I was very happy that they were able to see me and give me a prescription for my sinus infection. This place doesn't like walk-in patients but they do allow them. They also gave me the referral that I needed to a different doctor.
